Studying
cinema I realized that there are so many kinds of arts on it. However, I'm in
second year and I'm not sure of what I would love to work on the future yet.
But probably I would like being Art director.
An art
director is someone who is responsible for the visual style and images of all
kind of areas like advertising and public relations firms, newspaper and
magazine publishers, specialized design services firms, or the theatre, but
personally I would like to work only in motion picture and video industries, and maybe doing fashion production (or custume designer), specifically.
An art
director typically oversees the work of other designers and artists who produce
images. They determine the overall style or tone for each project and
articulate their vision to a movie set.
It depends
on the industry or what kind of art are
you going to do the specifically skill you have to have (costume designer, handcraft
designer, drawing, etc).
They have
to know how represent a concept visually. Develop with timelines and budgets, have a good communication
skills are also essential. Your team has to understand what you want. I like this job because I have to be creative, sensitive and
expressive all the time, and also be responsible of the aesthetic of an
audiovisual production.
here is a movie that has a beautifull and remarkable art direction :)
I love it! The visual aspect in movies is very important, so if you become an art director, you will probably learn a lot. *Franco Bonilla*
